Profile Information

The profile information panel allows you to augment and change information you provided when you signed up:

Although not required, some of the optional information is needed to support geolocation and notification features. Choosing a country impacts how default SMS features are setup. Providing a postal code will allow you to run duzzits that take postal code as an input (e.g. zip code input for weather lookup). Providing a mobile phone number allows you to run duzzits that send notifications to a mobile phone number associated with the account.

Notification Settings

The notification settings panel allows you to select certain itDuzzit notifications, such as a weekly summary of your duzzit activity.

SMS settings allow you to define “quiet time” – time when notifications should not be sent (typically late at night). This applies to text messages sent directly by itDuzzit (as opposed to notifications sent through a separate SMS vendor account that you’ve linked to itDuzzit.

You can also choose whether you will be sending SMS messages in the US/Canada, or worldwide. For US/Canada accounts, this setting allows you to leave off the North America country code (1) at the beginning of a number. This means that both 7735555555 and 17735555555 would be interpreted as a valid North America destination number.

If you need to send SMS messages to other countries, select “Worldwide mobile number”. However, this means that all SMS numbers must include the country code. If you don’t include the country code, it is possible that your text message will be sent to a valid number in a different country!

When using duzzits that send SMS messages, consider where the number data is coming from. For example, if you’ve linked itDuzzit to a CRM system, and are sending text messages to contacts from the CRM system, you’ll need to be sure that the mobile numbers in the CRM system are formatted correctly (e.g. include the country code if you’re sending to international destinations).
